Update on Minecraft and server stuff! ^_^
Hey all! Sorry for no updates and such. Not gonna throw the basic chipper chapper in but anyway, got some news to update! :3
Current EG server, will be taken down. Yes, it's being taken down for now. Sorry for this but there is a reason behind it:
Sokaris415 and me have been working on a new server project! We will be getting a new server hosted from another hoster which will allow us to finally do updates on Tekkit when a new version is released and other things. The server won't be up for a while yet, we are waiting on Tekkit 3.0.0 files and once they are out, we will start working on the new server.
As such, anyone on the EG server currently are welcome to join in and good news so you don't lose everything you've worked for: we have made some arrangements on that. If you are interested to join in the project (we need help, seriously xD) send a PM to me in here, in the forums letting me know and I'll fill you in a little bit.
It's sad for me to really let the current server go but to be honest, it never was more than a beta to me to see how things will work out. So now the new server, will really be what the old server was supposed to be in the end (with differences though but it's going the be really neat).

Hey everyone! :3 Status updating :3
Been a while since I've done a proper news post. So what's up? It's been quite busy and hectic for me the past 3 weeks as you know, Endet jr. is causing a mayhem to anything I plan for the day and making it hard to settle any time lines etc. But here's a few things you can except to happen in the near future.
First of all, the server has been quite empty and slow on stuff. We've all had some RL issues to work on so we haven't been able to do much in there. That's slowly changing. Sokaris is setting up the new server shop which will hold the necessary EE items so we can track a little on who has bought and what EE items. As you might know, we had a bad griefing issue due to EE items a few weeks ago but thanks to backups and stuff, that all was in vain and everything got fixed. So, if you have ideas what EE items and even IC2,BC items should be sold in the server shop, post it on this thread!
Another things are: Improvement of the website. As Ghozer posted some time ago, there already has been some improvements done. I'll be modifying the look of the website a little bit in the upcoming weeks and making a few extra pages for information etc.
About the stream too, I'm working on a new schedule plan and such which I will be sticking to but nothing has been decided. Nothing major but decided to note that also.

Website changes coming up...
Over the next week roughly there will be some changes to the website...
Amongst these changes are some things that you (the users) have asked for...
- Larger font for news and Forums
- Avatar picture, and post count in forums
Also...
- Themed forum 'new post' and 'reply' pages (finally)
- a "Comments (X)" on each news post, and clicking will go directly to the forum post
- Fixed URL parsing for URL's posted in the forums
- Fixed QUOTE box (instead of dark and green, it will match the site/theme)
-- There will also be some back-side changes and optimizations that won't mean much to most users, but will make the site more stable and secure... well, it'll make me a little happier atleast

Tekkit 2.1 and how to get it! ::DO NOT UPDATE STILL!!!:

Tekkit has released 2.1! It is a development build BUT it should fix various bugs, problems and stuffs with 2.0 but it might also bring a few other problems. None the less, we will be updating the server to 2.1!
To get 2.1 on client side, is easy. Here's how:
1. On techniclauncher, go to options before login.
2. Choose "Manual build selection"
3. Choose "2.1.0|1.1|Latest" from the drop down menu.
4. Now login!

This update bring the latest versions of the mods and Advanced machines + Advanced Solars in the mix too! :3

Important update of the server status and such
Hello once again!
So, most of you know we have had some issues on the server the past few days with lag and memory leakages. I've been trying to solve the problems today but haven't been able to definitively fix it yet or solve the cause of it. The next step in "bug tracking" is something which I decided to post and warn about.
I will be disabling some mods on the server to test them out to see if they are the culprits on the memory leakages. I will be starting this computercraft since from what I have learned, is the last mod to be taken in action in the server. Meaning no one has messed about with it until a few days ago when the problems started.
Once I've figured out what is causing this whole mess, I will be either a) trying to fix the problem or b) disable it completely until there is a fix.
So yeah, there's some stuff happening about and sorry if it messes up your systems or anything but I am kind of forced to this since the server stops working every 6h or less at this rate.

Update on the memory leak issue: I have found the culprit. The problem is ComputerCraft. The exact problem is that everytime a computer is rebooted CC creates new threads in Java. This isn't an issue, unless those threads never get unloaded. Which is exactly what is happening so as my Inn had a computer system which rebooted itself every 5s, the whole system got overloaded and fast. So this means that Computercraft is now disabled and will remain that way until the problem is fixable or fixed.
